Brand designer

Location: Calgary Alberta, or remote

We are looking for someone to join our team that has a genuine passion for design and creative culture. This person is capable of working both independently, and with our team. You have keen attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and a strong understanding of the relationship between brand strategy and design. You will work closely with our team to produce proprietary brand designs across a variety of formats, platforms and environments. This position is for someone that finds reward in making a tangible difference in our clients’ businesses. You will be tasked with new briefs and creative challenges on a regular basis and encouraged to keep up with and apply the latest techniques and tools.

The Role
  • The Ask: Conceptualize solutions that satisfy the needs and goals of our clients, that elevate the brand strategy, have flexibility in execution and the authenticity to be timeless.
  • The Work: Ideate, iterate and bring to life cohesive brand identities across various mediums; websites, digital documents, advertising, social media, physical environments and more.
  • The Studio: You’ll be part of a high-functioning studio, so the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while being flexible to changing client and studio needs is key.
Responsibilities
  • Contributing to the brand strategies developed for client projects. Understanding the client’s objectives and applying design in support of these drivers.
  • Ideate, iterate and bring to life cohesive brand identities under the direction of the Creative and Account Directors.
  • Collaborating with team members such as copywriters, photographers, production artists, developers to make all projects a commercial and creatively cohesive success.
  • Both produce and follow brand guidelines with a keen attention to detail.
  • Confidently present your work, and take a positive attitude to feedback with a focus on constructive problem-solving.
Technical Experience
  • Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, XD
  • Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel
  • Expertise in Webflow, animation and illustration as asset but not required

Compensation & time commitment

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and is competitive by industry standards. This role will be project based, with the goal to scale up with company growth
