Ember

As the 4th largest coal bed methane producer in the world, this private energy company required a brand and digital presence reflective of its unique personality and notable achievements.

We were engaged by Station Inc. on behalf of Ember Resources to build out an evolved brand for the company in the form of a website, photo library, corporate videos and stationary design.

Our first step was to meet the Ember team to understand their project goals and uncover their unique attributes that their brand needed to communicate.

The company is dynamic, tenacious and entrepreneurial. They have a fantastic culture and business that embraces both left and right brain thinking. Our goal was to bring these attributes to life through the visual and written language.

We then developed a central brand theme that set the foundation for the development of all subsequent brand elements:

See our focus, feel our drive

‘See our focus’ highlights Ember's tangible strengths, while ‘feel our drive’ reflects Ember's unique personality.

We translated the brand theme into an icon. The arrow denotes focus for a forward-looking company. The circle is inclusive and represents drive and momentum.

Creative headlines and body copy reinforced the brand theme throughout the website, and continued to reinforce Ember’s unique personality.

Building company culture through brand

A light, bright, and fresh colour palette was created, reflecting the company's progressive culture and leading technology.

The user interface allowed ample breathing room, drawing attention to engaging content such as the videos, information graphics and photography. We ensured the backend infrastructure was built to allow for a robust investor section in the future.

A multi-day photo and video shoot of their field and office locations was conducted to capture their people and operations.

The end result was a robust photo library along with two internal employee engagement videos; one featuring their company culture, and one showcasing Health & Safety—both are featured on the website.

Ember’s new website is a breath of fresh air; it showcases their personality, has established their visual and written brand and has also become an educational resource for people to learn about coal bed methane.
